Valentine's Day searches have increased 172 percent over the past week. While Valentine's gifts for him made the top 10 list of most popular Valentine's Day-related searches, Valentine's gifts for her did not. In fact, searches for gifts for him are four times more popular than gifts for her. Meanwhile, diamond engagement rings always generate the most search activity online, but the hottest trend in wedding ring styles over this past year has been titanium rings. Gold-banded engagement rings are the least popular style of band online, and are as popular as searches for gold teeth.
"If web search activity is any indication, we are more romantic this Valentine's Day compared to last year," said Dean Tsouvalas, writer of The Lycos 50. "Over the past year, search activity for making love is up 140 percent, searches for love songs increased 50 percent and online interest in love letters jumped 60 percent."
"While searches for Cupid are down 10 percent this year, search activity for love spells has increased 550 percent, and tops this year's list of most popular love-related searches." Tsouvalas added. "Some of the most common love spell search queries include easy love spells, free love spells, spells to make him fall in love, love potions, binding love spells, and love spells that work."
