The Lycos Management team includes a strong group of experienced leaders from a variety of industry backgrounds. Many members of the management team have been working in the Internet industry from its inception, and have demonstrated a proven track record of success. There are a number of key executives who come from high-profile companies with more traditional media industry experience, while others have been with Lycos for more than seven years. Their depth of overall business experience provides Lycos with a strong, agile and talented senior management team that has been instrumental in the company's success.
Jungwook Lim directs and oversees all Lycos Corporate business functions supporting a large portfolio of Web products. A proven new media and communications executive, Jungwook brings an expertise in consumer experience, product innovation, revenue, sales, marketing and business development.
Prior to joining Lycos, Jungwook had held several management positions at Daum Communications Corp. including Vice President, Global Center, Knowledge Officer & Vice President of External Affairs Office, and Head of Service Innovation Division.
Jungwook holds an MBA degree from the Walter A. Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley, and earned a B.A. in Business Administration from the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
Edward manages and directs Lycos' global portfolio of search products including Lycos Search, Hotbot and Whowhere. He is also responsible for Business Development, Ad Sales and Ad Monetization across the Lycos Network. Edward has been a dedicated "Lycosian" since starting at the Company in early 2000. His multi-disciplinary skill set and thorough knowledge of both Lycos and the Industry have proven invaluable to the Company over the years.
Prior to joining Lycos, Edward worked at KPMG in Boston where he consulted a large portfolio of High Technology clients.
Edward attended Bryant University where he earned an MST as well as a B.S. in Finance and Management Information Systems.
Christopher leads product management for Lycos' games division, including Gamesville.com and white label game solutions. This is his second tenure with Lycos. Previously, he developed and managed strategic alliances with third-party game providers, and oversaw the development of multiple online games including the web's first free version of "The Price Is Right" in association with Fremantle Media.
Prior to Lycos, Chris served as product manager for GameLogic, Inc., where he drove alignment among business, technical, and creative resources to create casino-style online games for land-based casinos in the United States and the United Kingdom. These games are available at Foxwoods Resort & Casino, Dover Downs, and Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort, among others.
Chris graduated with distinction from Merrimack College with a degree in English and a minor in Religious Studies. He received a Master of Business degree from University of Phoenix.
Joe is responsible for the backbone of Lycos' technology and support infrastructure, including internal operations, registration, billing, and customer service. In addition, he leads product development for Lycos Mail and Lycos Domains.
During his 11 year term at Lycos, Joe has worn many hats and championed the adoption of open source technologies as part of his commitment to improving the customer experience while lowering costs and remaining true to the company's technology roots. Prior to Lycos, Joe was lead engineer for discount-travel startup All Destinations (acquired by OneTravel in 1999).
A former contributor to Linux Journal magazine and Linux Today, Joe's work has appeared in numerous industry magazines and websites, and been translated into several languages. He has contributed to multiple open source projects, including the Linux kernel, WINE, and Xen, and is currently a guest lecturer at Harvard University Extension School.
James directs the Web Publishing Department at Lycos which includes the Tripod and Angelfire hosting properties as well as the Webon Site Editor tool. James is responsible for strategy, feature planning, competitive analysis, requirements gathering, experience design, creative direction, marketing and SEO/SEM.
Before working at Lycos, James was a Product Manager at Endurance International Group where he managed a wide variety of web-based products and services. He has also been a freelance web designer for over 10 years.
James has a B.S. in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music and still manages to rock out occasionally, when time allows.
